Description: A total re-make of an old layout of mine -- [url=http://www.digishoptalk.com/gallery/showphoto.php?photo=1000833&title=spring-y&cat=all]Spring-y.[/url] I only used its back story and other photos from the same day. Everything else is different. :) Journaling reads: On the way to visit an ancient city in Lebanon, we stopped at a restaurant for lunch. There was an adjacent playground with the biggest trampoline Neill had ever seen and he couldn't wait to try. They put a big net around it so the children wouldn't fall off and hurt themselves, which was a good thing. But I couldn't help feeling a bit annoyed at that time, I was sure it's gonna ruin the pictures -- and subsequently, the layout. Guess what, it wasn't really. I think it kinda gives the page a nice texture. What do you think? He took his 'job' seriously and handed out gifts for the younger kids diligently all the way. Fun was had all aroud. Description: Journaling reads: We were having fun at the school's annual get-together when suddenly the whole auditorium went completely silent. On the stage, a blind student who was a recent graduate had started to sing. Her rendition of 'You Lift Me Up' brought tears to everyone's eyes and gave us goosebumps. Not only did she 'lift us up' spiritually with her angelic voice, her talent and courage proved to our children that they too can do and be anything if they work hard enough and don't give in to any obstacle. At the end of the night, we left the function feeling so proud of the school we chose for Neill. This is an educational institution that managed to give us the best lesson even in the middle of a party! Description: Journaling reads: Last October we gave Deandr� a toy kitchen set as an early Birthday present. At first she tried to look disinterested. But after a while it was all she would play with. The problem came when it's time to go home. Deandr� refused to ever be seperated from her newly beloved toy. Her daddy put the set in the trunk, she climbed in right after and stayed there the whole way home! Description: Journaling reads: This fun picture of Neill was taken three years ago when we were celebrating Songkran holiday (Thai New Year) in Phuket. This year we are in Lebanon, so far away from home, and all the gloomy news from Thailand does its best in getting us out of the celebrating mood almost completely. If we can have one wish for the New Year, It would be for peace and love to come back to our beautiful country. Let the joyful spirit of Songkran make people come to their senses and finally see what is aaabest for the country. Instead of bullets, blood, and hatred, let's splash each other with cool, clean, and refreshing water to calm our temper in the manner that Songkran has been celebrated all along. Description: Journaling: Dog days, according to wikipedia and other online sources, is a phrase used to describe the hottest and most humid period of summer when time halts to a standstill and nothing ever seems to get done. In other words, it's a period of stagnation. How appropriate that it is also the name of a small restaurant that we frequented over a span of a year, almost 10 years ago. At that time, we were still young professionals just starting a career. Apart from the love for good arts and good food, we also shared frustration in what we were doing for a living. Our lives were progressing so slowly and not in the direction we wanted it to be. We were lucky though to still have each other to get drunk and vent out with. Fast forward to the present, Dog Days the restaurant went out of business long time ago. There're changes in our lives too. The girl who took this picture becomes a top p.r. exec. One friend is now a famous actor, another owns a comic publishing house. Two succeeds in the music business as singers / songwriters. One learned a new language from scratch and now manages an international company overseas, while two are enjoying lives as architects. And me? I am happily married, raising a son, and loving my job. As clich� as it sounds, the photograph reminds me that dog days will pass, and life does go on........
